Pincushion

This is my version of a small Pincushion

This pattern is written in US terms.

PINCUSHION

SIZE: ca 8 cm

YARN: I have used Scheepjes Sunkissed 100% cotton but you may as well use any other yarn you have in your stash

HOOK: 3,0 mm

YOU WILL NEED: Scissors, Needle, Button, some stuffing and a long piece of yarn in another color than you used for the ”body”

STITCH GUIDE

slst – slip stitch

sc – single crochet

GOOD TO KNOW:

You will be working in a spiral, it means  that you won’t join the beginning and end of each round.  Rather you will continue around, making the first st of each round in the first st of the previous round.I strongly recommend using a stitch marker when you work in a spiral as you won’t have any other prompts to remind you where the end of the round should fall.

PATTERN

Start with a magic ring (here is a good tutorial if you are not familiar with how to do a magic ring), Into magic ring, 6 Sc (6)

Round 2: sc twice in each st (12)

Round 3: * sc twice in next st, sc in next st. Repeat from * 5 times (18)

Round 4: * sc twice in next st, sc in next 2 sts. Repeat from * 5 times (24)

Round 5: * sc twice in next st, sc in next 3 sts. Repeat from * 5 times (30)

Round 6: * sc twice in next st, sc in next 4 sts. Repeat from * 5 times (36)

Round 7: * sc twice in next st, sc in next 5 sts. Repeat from * 5 times (42)

Round 8: * sc twice in next st, sc in next 6 sts. Repeat from * 5 times (48)

Round 9: * sc twice in next st, sc in next 7 sts. Repeat from * 5 times (54)

Round 10: * sc twice in next st, sc in next 8 sts. Repeat from * 5 times (60)

Round 11: * sc twice in next st, sc in next 9 sts. Repeat from * 5 times (66)

Round 12: * sc twice in next st, sc in next 10 sts. Repeat from * 5 times (72)

Round 10: * sc twice in next st, sc in next 11 sts. Repeat from * 5 times (78)

With yarn needle and yarn in another color *draw needle and yarn through center of the flower from bottom stem area to top stem area, wrap around side of the flower; repeat from * 5 more times to form six indentations and slightly flatten the flower.

Attach the button to the middle.  Fasten off.
